What we have once enjoyed we can never lose.
All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.

~Coping with Care~

Often we are so immersed in our grief and consumed by our loss that we neglect to take care of ourselves. Losing someone you love is an open wound that affects every part of your emotional and physical being.  The toll it takes should not be underestimated and it is important that we take time to nurture ourselves. Here are a few ways:

Relax in a hot bath with calming bath salts
Keep a journal
Avoid thinking negatively and reliving the days that have caused you the most pain
Read books and poetry that bring comfort
Listen to music
Meditate or pray
Light a candle with a soothing aroma (lavender, chamomile)
Buy yourself flowers or something that used to bring you happiness
Exercise (commit to 12 mins a day)
Schedule time with a friend
Take a walk outdoors/ Bask in sunlight
Stand up and Stretch
Celebrate your successes-every day you get through is a milestone.
Breathe. Breathe. Breathe.
